About Em + Me

When we both moved to Winchester, Virginia, in 2015 with our husbands and children, we didn’t know anybody. Then one humid afternoon in July we found each other, a chance meeting at the local pool. And during our very first conversation we joked about starting a business together one day.  

Who does that?

But it didn’t take long for us to realize that we both loved beer, Jesus, and shopping at thrift stores (not exactly in that order). In other words, we were compatible and made better decisions together than we did on our own. 

The most practical benefit? Being able to help each other create homes we love. 

Choosing paint colors, arranging furniture, hanging artwork, making something old feel new again – for us, it’s energizing. We are at our creative best when we are bringing a room to life. And we’ve found that when we do, so many good things happen. 

We’re nicer to our kids. We invite people over more often. We laugh a little more, worry a little less and just enjoy the simple pleasure of spending time with people we care about. It’s amazing how transforming a room can accomplish a whole lot more than just changing the way it looks.
